Hyokyung, a former member of the group ARIAZ, has captured attention by sharing her experiences during her time as an idol.

Recently, Hyokyung uploaded a video on her YouTube channel where she discussed her experiences and stories from the K-pop industry. The video includes her reflections on her career after debut and insights into the industry's structure.

She mentioned a particular case, stating, "The center position in some groups wasn't based on talent or popularity."

She continued, "A member who was in a romantic relationship with the entertainment agency's CEO took that position." She added, "Such occurrences are common in smaller agencies. Fans probably couldn't understand why that member was the center."

Hyokyung also shared her experiences regarding financial settlements.

She revealed, "After two and a half years of activity, I received my first financial statement, and it was all debt." She explained, "The agency calculated all our pre-debut training costs, outfit expenses, accommodation fees, and even meal costs as our debt."

During her career, she said, "I received a movie offer, but the agency rejected it without providing a proper explanation."

She recalled, "There were too many things I couldn't choose. Idols are treated more like possessions than professionals."

The revelations were made without naming specific individuals or groups, and the video has sparked various reactions online.

Some view it as a critique of the industry's structure, while others suggest a cautious interpretation due to the lack of concrete verification.

Hyokyung explained her decision to speak out, saying, "I debated for a long time whether to say this. But I hated the idea of more victims like me."

Meanwhile, ARIAZ, the group Hyokyung was part of, was launched in 2019 under Rising Star Entertainment, a label of Star Empire. The group ceased activities in 2022 after facing various challenges.
