On the YouTube channel 'YouAmom,' Park Sae-mi explored an oceanview apartment in Songdo, gathering insights from current residents about the pros and cons of living there.
YouTuber Daran Daddy, a resident of the apartment, guided Park Sae-mi through the community facilities and the apartment's interior. Daran Daddy showcased the on-site amenities, including a restaurant serving meals on weekdays and weekends, a golf course, fitness center, sauna, and daycare center.
A standout feature was the private cinema available exclusively to residents. The cinema, seating around 20 people, is equipped with electric recliners and was screening the movie 'The King and the Clown' during the visit, which impressed Park Sae-mi.
The community usage fees were also considered affordable. Meals at the on-site cafeteria were priced around 9,000 KRW, and the fitness center could be accessed for approximately 33,000 KRW per month.
Daran Daddy, who resides in a 35-pyeong (approximately 1,238 square feet) apartment, shared, "I purchased it for around 900 million KRW, including options, totaling about 1 billion KRW. The current market price is around 1.1 billion KRW, but there are hardly any listings available." He noted the high-quality living environment at a relatively affordable price, adding, "You just have to give up on Seoul."
Daran Daddy also addressed concerns about high maintenance fees due to the extensive community facilities, stating, "The maintenance fee is around 300,000 KRW in summer and 400,000 KRW in winter." He added, "People often say you need to be in Seoul for your kids, but living here makes me question that. It's great for children to grow up seeing nature."
Park Sae-mi concluded that the Songdo apartment could be a viable option for those wanting to raise their children well.
