Comedian Yang Sang-guk Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Late Father on 'You Quiz on the Block'
On the September 29th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), comedian Yang Sang-guk made a guest appearance.
Yang, who is currently a DJ for a traffic radio show, shared, "My father was a taxi driver, so he always listened to traffic radio. After he passed away, I was offered a spot on the traffic radio the following year. I thought, 'If my father were alive, he would have listened to this radio every day.'" He continued, "My father never once bragged about having a son like me. He was worried that if he made a mistake, it might affect me. Even when he had passengers, he never boasted about me. I wonder how happy he would have been to listen to the radio show I host."
Yang continued, "It was a funeral I could never have imagined. My father passed away, and my mother had to go into quarantine because of COVID-19. She couldn't even attend the funeral of her husband, whom she had spent her whole life with. My brother was on a business trip in the United States. I was the only one there as the chief mourner." He added, "It broke my heart that my father was taken away in a plastic bag. We couldn't even dress him in a burial suit." He also shared, "My older brother came from the U.S. on the last day to see our father's face. They made us wear protective suits," expressing his sorrow.
