Channel A Launches 'Chef's Open Run': A Unique Culinary Adventure

Channel A is set to premiere its new chef project, 'Chef's Open Run', on the 26th.

This innovative program features top chefs Lee Won-il, Jang Ho-jun, and Lee Seung-jun, who step out of their kitchens to assist local restaurants, offering a fresh and unique concept.

The historic journey begins in the early morning on a quiet street. Sneaking into the restaurant like thieves, these culinary masters—'Korean cuisine's Lee Won-il', 'Japanese cuisine's Jang Ho-jun', and 'Western cuisine's Lee Seung-jun'—are joined by 'mukbang master' MC Kim Jun-hyun, promising a high-stakes culinary battle.

Their first mission is to give Korea's 6 million small business owners a 'day off'. They take on all aspects of restaurant operations, from cooking to cleaning, serving, and promotion, becoming a reliable support for local eateries.

Upon entering the empty restaurant, they are greeted not with applause but with a mountain of 'mission notes'. Tasks include cleaning windows, inflating balloons, and dealing with mysterious boxes. Joking about how they clean their homes more often than restaurants, the chefs soon swap their knives for brooms, embarking on a 'forced return to basics'.

After swiftly completing their cleaning tasks, the chefs face a daunting challenge that even seasoned professionals find intimidating. As anticipation builds around whether they can successfully prepare for their first open run, a menu development showdown also draws attention.

In this episode, the chefs are tasked with creating a '3,000 won premium bread' that will have customers lining up. Chef Lee Won-il adds a refreshing secret twist to a giant matcha soboro bread, leaving the bakery owner in awe.

The competition heats up with a 'new filling' challenge that could change the fate of a 1,000 won bakery. With Lee Won-il's robust Korean touch and Jang Ho-jun's delicate Japanese flair, MC Kim Jun-hyun can't put down his spoon, showering praise on the surprising flavors. Who will win this pride-driven filling battle among Korean, Japanese, and Western cuisine experts? Tune in to find out.

Watch as the chefs hit the streets with their bread, aiming to sell 100 pieces in under an hour. Channel A's 'Chef's Open Run', capturing the chefs' heartfelt challenges, premieres on the 26th at 10:30 AM.
