The members of MAMAMOO (Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, Hwasa) are focusing on their solo activities ahead of their full group comeback in June.
On April 16, Wheein released her single 'adagio'. This marks her first album since signing an exclusive contract with Withus Entertainment in July last year. 'adagio' includes two tracks: the title song 'The Symphony of Fxxkboys' and 'Truth Hurts'.
In the music video, Wheein highlights various forms of violence in society, such as domestic and school violence, beyond just relationship issues. The video begins by showing individuals in distress, who eventually find solace in each other through hugs and hand-holding.
A fan commented on the official YouTube music video, "I cried while watching. It gave me hope that even if I can't completely escape violence, I can be understood." Another fan noted, "I sense a sensitivity behind her usual playful demeanor. It feels like her personal story is included, which makes it even more touching."
Hwasa also made a recent comeback with her single 'So Cute', released on April 9. The song celebrates finding strength in small, cute things amidst a mundane life. The music video reflects this message, showing Hwasa initially looking exhausted but gradually regaining her smile while interacting with children.
As of April 17, the music video has surpassed 14 million views on YouTube and ranks 36th on Melon's main chart TOP100. A viewer commented, "This music video seems to honor Hwasa's past while declaring a desire to live purely like a child, enjoying life without constraints."
Moonbyul released her third single 'REV' on March 25 and held a fan meeting in Shanghai on April 11. 'REV' includes three tracks: the title song 'Hertz', 'DREAMER', and '기세'. 'Hertz' conveys unstoppable energy.
Solar is also active in the Chinese market alongside Moonbyul, who is still with their original agency, RBW. Solar held a fan signing event in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on April 12, promoting her Chinese single 'Your Own Star', released in March. The single topped Taiwan's iTunes 'Top Songs' chart and gained popularity on major Chinese music charts like QQ Music and Kugou Music. Solar also won the 'Best Skilled Singer of the Year' award at the 'Weibo Gala 2026 Weibo Cultural Exchange Night' in Macau. She is set to perform in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 10.
MAMAMOO members will conclude their solo activities in May and return as a full group in June to celebrate their 12th anniversary. This project aims to make up for the lack of events during their 10th anniversary in 2024. The upcoming comeback and world tour are anticipated to satisfy fans who have been waiting for the past two years.
