Daesung of BIGBANG Captivates Coachella with Unique K-Trot Performance
On April 20th (KST), Daesung performed with BIGBANG at the 'Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival' in Indio, California, closing the Outdoor Theatre Stage.
In addition to BIGBANG's performance, Daesung electrified the audience with his solo tracks 'Handochoa' and 'Nal Bwa Gwisun'. Amidst a festival dominated by hip-hop and pop, Daesung elevated the atmosphere with Korean trot, creating an unprecedented stage.
With powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence, Daesung transformed the venue into a massive 'K-Party'. Hearing overseas fans sing along to 'Handochoa', Daesung humorously expressed surprise, asking, "How do you know the lyrics?" During 'Nal Bwa Gwisun', he playfully engaged with the audience, mixing Korean and English lyrics.
Daesung, who gained attention at Coachella with K-trot, has been praised for his unique performances combining trot and humor since his solo activities in Japan. This strength has seamlessly transitioned to domestic stages and last year's Asia tour. Daesung consistently proves his stage dominance and audience-friendly performances, breaking barriers with global audiences at Coachella.
Daesung added, "As this activity is a 'restart' rather than a comeback, I will strive to continue presenting better performances. I hope you will stay with us on this journey."
As Daesung leads a new wave of K-culture at Coachella, the music industry and fans are eager to see what 'pleasant surprises' he will bring in his 20th debut anniversary year.
