Shinhwa member Kim Dong-wan has expressed his thoughts on comedian Lee Su-ji's parody video of a kindergarten teacher.
On the 15th, Kim Dong-wan took to his social media to share a lengthy post, stating, "Comedian Lee Su-ji's kindergarten teacher content might just be exposing the contradiction of expecting respect for educators without actually giving it."
He continued, "The term 'discipline' itself is becoming increasingly cautious, and the field is becoming more and more constrained. In the trend where small social experiences like sports days, picnics, and school trips are disappearing or being reduced, the relationships and conflicts that children need to learn are being pushed out."
Kim further added, "What should be experienced within the safety net of educators is eventually faced in a rougher society without any protection. The biggest victims are the children. Unless the authority of educators is upheld, necessary education and educators might gradually disappear."
Previously, on the 7th, Lee Su-ji uploaded a video titled 'The Never-Ending 24 Hours of Kindergarten Teacher Lee Min-ji [Human Documentary: The Real Extreme Job]' on her YouTube channel 'Hot Issue Ji.' In the video, she portrayed the character of kindergarten teacher Lee Min-ji, perfectly capturing the realistic struggles they face. The video garnered approximately 4.8 million views within a week of its release, sparking widespread attention.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong-wan has been embroiled in controversies due to his past social media remarks. In February, he faced criticism for comments interpreted as supporting the legalization of prostitution. Last month, he publicly supported MC Ding Dong, who has a history of drunk driving, shortly after an incident involving the assault of a female broadcaster, leading to further controversy. He later deleted the post and issued an explanation.
