IU Dazzles in Traditional Apron While Showcasing Late-Night Snack Recipe
On the 15th, the YouTube channel 'Chef An Sung-jae' released a video titled 'IU's Late-Night Snack Recipe: A Guilt-Free Treat for Late Nights.' In the video, IU met with Chef An Sung-jae, who appeared on the Netflix show 'Black and White Chef,' to discuss cooking.
In the video, IU commented, "The '21st Century Grand Lady' embodies traditional Korean culture," and added, "The apron is made from hanbok fabric, and it's so beautiful that I decided to wear it." Chef An Sung-jae praised her outfit, saying, "It's the most beautiful apron I've seen in my 25 years of cooking. I thought it was a dress."
Despite the compliments, IU appeared nervous, saying, "I'm more nervous than before singing the first song at a concert," as she introduced her dish. She explained, "When I get home from work, it's usually dinner time, but with a schedule the next day, I can't eat high-calorie foods. So, I found a recipe for 'Soft Tofu Cheese Pancakes,' which is tasty and doesn't add much weight."
After tasting IU's dish, Chef An Sung-jae remarked, "Imagining coming home tired and quickly making this dish, I understand why it's delicious." IU humorously responded, "So it's a taste that requires the right situation," bringing laughter to the set. Chef An Sung-jae quickly added, "You've created a very comfortable taste with simple ingredients, and the seasoning is subtle and precise. It doesn't feel out of place at all, and I enjoyed it very much," creating a warm atmosphere.
Meanwhile, IU stars in '21st Century Grand Lady,' set in a constitutional monarchy in 21st-century Korea. The drama follows Seong Hee-joo (played by IU), a wealthy woman frustrated by her commoner status, and Lee An-dae-gun (played by Byun Woo-seok), a prince who can't have anything, as they navigate their fates and challenge social status. The third episode of '21st Century Grand Lady' airs on the 17th at 9:50 PM on MBC.
