Heechul Returns to Driving After 20 Years: A Heartfelt Journey on 'My Little Old Boy'

Heechul, 42, has taken the wheel again after a 20-year hiatus following an accident.

On the October 12th episode of SBS's variety show 'My Little Old Boy', Heechul, who had been avoiding driving for two decades, was seen receiving driving lessons from Tak Jae-hoon and Heo Kyung-hwan.

Heechul revealed that he decided to take driving lessons again, explaining, "I want to be able to drive my future child, whom I plan to name Lua, to kindergarten or school."

Heechul even brought out his old driver's license, prompting Heo Kyung-hwan to joke about his changed appearance, to which Heechul agreed, reminiscing about his younger looks.

Tak Jae-hoon and Heo Kyung-hwan prepared a challenging driving course for Heechul, including S-curves, U-turns, and T-parking. Heechul was initially flustered by the dial-type gear shift and made Heo Kyung-hwan nervous with his sudden accelerations and sharp turns. Tak Jae-hoon humorously remarked, "Are you racing?"

In 2006, Heechul suffered a severe car accident while returning to Seoul after attending the funeral of fellow Super Junior member Donghae's father. The accident left him with a 12-week recovery period, requiring seven metal pins for fractures in his thigh and ankle, and resulted in a level 4 disability rating.
