Jo Hye-joo, represented by MAA, has been cast as the lead character Bok-hee in the new drama 'I Am a Sinner'.
Set in the lawless city of the 1980s during a redevelopment frenzy, 'I Am a Sinner' is a crime action noir based on a webtoon of the same name. It follows the story of the era's demon, Paeng-i, and survivalist gang member Saeng-dak, who risk everything for a life-changing heist.
Jo Hye-joo's character, Bok-hee, is the key supplier in a drug operation and Paeng-i's first love. Known for her striking appearance, Bok-hee is unpredictable and often acts in unexpected ways. Her involvement in the drug business at Paeng-i's request shakes things up.
Jo Hye-joo made her debut in the 2018 web drama 'Just Because I'm Bored' and has since built a reputation for her unique acting style in series like 'Search: WWW', 'Reborn Rich', 'The Secret Romantic Guesthouse', and 'My Demon'. After leading in 'To My Harry' last year, Jo is set to showcase a deeper level of acting in this crime noir, presenting a completely different side of herself.
Anticipation is high for how Jo Hye-joo will leave a strong impression through her complex character Bok-hee in 'I Am a Sinner'. The Disney+ original series 'I Am a Sinner' will be available exclusively on Disney+.
