Kang Jeon-ae, who previously served as a spokesperson for the People Power Party and defended former President Yoon Seok-yeol, has expressed that she made statements conflicting with her conscience.
On the 26th, the production presentation for the new Wavve original survival variety show 'Betting on Fact' was broadcast online. The event was attended by comedian Jang Dong-min, Lee Yong-jin, singer and actress Ye-won, professor Jin Joong-kwon, political YouTuber Hellmouse, broadcaster Jung Young-jin, former People Power Party spokesperson Kang Jeon-ae, former Democratic Party Supreme Council member Park Sung-min, and producer Kim Min-jong.
'Betting on Fact' is a reality news game show where eight participants live in isolation from the outside world to discern the truth of news in an era flooded with fake news.
Ye-won is set to make a strong impression as an 'emotional player' who shakes up the game with unexpected moves, Park Sung-min as an 'aggressive player' who pushes through to the end, and Kang Jeon-ae as a 'hexagonal player' equipped with both experience and logic.
Ye-won shared, "I didn't expect to be part of such a program. I thought the image I had shown was far from this. As someone who encounters both fake and real news frequently, I had a sense of responsibility. I decided to participate, thinking I could view it from a public perspective rather than a professional one." Park Sung-min added, "This is my second connection with Wavve. My prejudice against survival shows was broken, and I thought it would be a fun experience when the offer came."
Kang Jeon-ae explained, "I immediately agreed when the offer came. Previously, I appeared in current affairs and political segments, where I spoke more about the party's stance than my own thoughts. Last year, during a difficult time, I made many statements that conflicted with my conscience as a spokesperson. I wanted a platform where I could express my true thoughts, and I felt I could voice my opinions as a responsible member of Korean society here."
'Betting on Fact' will premiere on the 27th at 11 AM.
