Popular South Korean entertainer Ji Suk-jin has expressed his frustration. Despite being a strong contender for the 'SBS Entertainment Awards' Grand Prize in 2021, he only received the 'Honorary Employee Award', sparking controversy over his perceived snub. Although he has been consistently nominated for the Grand Prize, he has yet to win.
On October 30th at 5 PM, Netflix will premiere its new daily variety show 'Manhakdo Ji' (directed by Jeong Do-dam, produced by TEO). This reality-based knowledge exploration show aims to break down the barriers of knowledge with raw questions. Ji Suk-jin, who is passionate about learning even at the age of 60, and Mimi from Oh My Girl, known for her sharp questions, will host the show. They will be joined by a wide range of guests, including science communicator Gwe-do.
The released teaser video features Gwe-do, the first guest and a well-known 'science enthusiast'. Even before the cameras started rolling, Gwe-do filled the audio with his presence, showcasing his unique charisma. In the midst of endless banter with the eager learners Ji Suk-jin and Mimi, Gwe-do humorously asked, “Is this a hearing?”
Gwe-do's fearless responses to AI-related questions added to the intrigue. Despite the quirky questions from the two hosts, Gwe-do maintained his composure, delivering witty answers that elicited laughter. Ji Suk-jin reacted with, "I'm getting angry," as if he had been outsmarted, while Mimi excitedly exclaimed, "That's just like me," causing an uproar on set.
Towards the end of the video, Gwe-do expressed his regret, saying, "I didn't get to talk much about science, just my recent activities." The chemistry between hosts Ji Suk-jin and Mimi, along with the show's easygoing chat format, raises anticipation for 'Manhakdo Ji', a knowledge show that anyone can enjoy.
'Manhakdo Ji' will release its first two episodes on Netflix at 5 PM on October 30th, with new episodes airing every Monday at 5 PM.
