Kang Ho-dong Transforms into a Bookstore Owner in New Coupang Play Show 'Kang Ho-dong's Bookstore'

Coupang Play's new variety show 'Kang Ho-dong's Bookstore' is set to premiere on March 6 at 4 PM. Kang Ho-dong, currently a regular on JTBC's 'Knowing Bros', will take on the role of a bookstore owner.

'Kang Ho-dong's Bookstore' features the loud yet tender-hearted INFP bookstore owner 'Hocrates' (Kang Ho-dong) engaging in heartfelt conversations with guests who visit his store. Returning to a solo talk show format after 13 years, the 'nation's MC' Kang Ho-dong will invite notable figures from various fields in South Korea to his cozy bookstore, using his energetic questioning style to draw out their stories in an entertaining manner.

In the released poster, Kang Ho-dong is seen smiling warmly amidst a backdrop of his bookstore in the charming neighborhood of 'Kang Ho-dong'. His curious gaze among the stacks of books heralds the arrival of the 'lovely philosopher' Hocrates. The sharp yet warm questions he poses to his guests are anticipated to resonate with viewers.

The teaser trailer captures attention with the Socratic quote, “The door to the world is always open to those who ask questions first.” Hocrates, described as a 'universal being' who has explored humanity as a philosopher, athlete, and advisor over millennia, presents a unique worldview. The teaser ends with the intriguing arrival of the first guest, whose mere voice saying, “I came to sell some books,” exudes an overwhelming aura, building tension and curiosity.

'Kang Ho-dong's Bookstore' will feature a diverse array of guests, from top stars to unexpected figures rarely seen on variety shows, each bringing their 'life book' to the store. Guests, known for their resilience to tough questions, will find themselves disarmed by Hocrates' pure insight and INFP-like empathy, creating a unique 'life bookstore' experience.

'Kang Ho-dong's Bookstore' will be available every Friday at 4 PM starting March 6.
