The film 'Humint', directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, recently held a successful Impact GV event.

On the evening of the 23rd, the 'Humint' team hosted an Impact GV at Lotte Cinema World Tower. The event was attended by actors Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, Shin Se-kyung, Jung Yoo-jin, and director Ryoo Seung-wan, with film journalist Lee Eun-sun leading a deep discussion about the film. The event sold out immediately upon ticket release, showcasing the audience's keen interest in 'Humint'.

Character Insights: "Flow Over Physicality"

As the GV began, the actors candidly shared their thoughts on preparing for their roles. Park Jung-min stated, "Even if the action is intense, the emotions shouldn't be diminished. Maintaining the character's flow was more important than physical exhaustion." Park Hae-joon added, "To maintain tension, I tried to stay in character even before filming. The chemistry with fellow actors determines the scene's depth." Shin Se-kyung mentioned, "I saw Chae Sun-hwa as a key player in driving the plot. Her choices in situations were crucial, and she made very courageous decisions." Jung Yoo-jin also shared, "We often discussed that emotions should lead even in action scenes," emphasizing the importance of character-driven storytelling.

Vladivostok Action Insights: "Action Stemming from Situation and Emotion"

During the Q&A session, questions about action choreography and overseas location shoots were prevalent. Director Ryoo explained, "Action ultimately stems from situation and emotion. I wanted to create explosive scenes built on character choices." Regarding car chases and gun scenes, he said, "We aimed to maximize tension while maintaining realism." He chose Vladivostok as a location because "the snow-covered landscape before spring aligns with the characters' way of living, hiding truths," enhancing the film's symbolic and atmospheric depth.

Recording Scene Insights: "An Idea from Director Park Chan-wook"

A particularly well-received behind-the-scenes story involved the recording scene with Park Geon and Sun-hwa. Director Ryoo shared, "The scene where Park Geon listens to Sun-hwa's voice file while Hwang Chi-seong eavesdrops was suggested by Director Park Chan-wook. He advised that since Sun-hwa has been involved in music, she might gift a song as a birthday present. The idea of Hwang Chi-seong monitoring the scene was compelling, and I was grateful to incorporate it," earning applause from the audience. The event offered insights into both the film's production and its behind-the-scenes stories, adding special significance.

'Humint' is currently showing in theaters nationwide, depicting a clash of individuals with different motives in the icy waters of Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are submerged.
