'The Man Who Lives with the King' Set to Surpass 5 Million Viewers This Weekend
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 20th, 'The Man Who Lives with the King' attracted 239,000 viewers yesterday, securing the top spot in the daily box office.
With this, the film's cumulative audience has reached approximately 4.41 million, significantly outpacing 'Humint,' which recorded around 1.33 million viewers.
As of 9 a.m. today, 'The Man Who Lives with the King' also leads in ticket reservations with an overwhelming 54%, indicating it will likely surpass 5 million viewers by this weekend.
Set in 1457 Cheongnyeongpo, the film tells the story of village chief Eom Heung-do, who volunteers for exile to revive his village, and young dethroned king Lee Hong-wi, as they navigate life together. The film stars Park Ji-hoon, formerly of the group Wanna One, and actor Yoo Hae-jin, with direction by Jang Hang-jun, who is also known as the husband of writer Kim Eun-hee. The film surpassed 1 million viewers within just five days of its release.
