Kim Sung-cheol Takes on Doctor Role in New Drama 'Sleeping Doctor'
Actor Kim Sung-cheol is set to challenge himself with a doctor role.

According to a report by TenAsia on the 9th, Kim Sung-cheol will star in the drama 'Sleeping Doctor.' 'Sleeping Doctor' follows the story of a psychiatrist who has experienced sexual assault and believes she has overcome everything to open her dream private practice. However, she suffers from narcolepsy, falling asleep in front of patients, and struggles to survive as a self-employed doctor in a local clinic. The drama also explores her journey of rehabilitation as she meets a 'munchkin' pay doctor with extensive medical knowledge across all fields, helping her step out of her trauma.

In the drama, Kim Sung-cheol will play Nam Ji-oh, a pay doctor in the psychiatric department with a natural talent for memorization.

This marks Kim Sung-cheol's first time taking on a white-collar professional role since his debut. Previously, he gained recognition as a villain actor for his dual role as Jang Jun-woo and Jang Han-seok in tvN's 'Vincenzo.' He also portrayed a killer in last year's film 'The Outlaws,' executing murders as part of his job. His portrayal of a doctor in 'Sleeping Doctor' will be a character unlike any in his previous filmography.

Meanwhile, Kim Sung-cheol is set to meet viewers first through Disney Plus's 'Goldland.' 'Goldland' depicts the desires, betrayals, and conflicts of people centered around a domestic casino in a declining coal mining area. The series stars Kim Sung-cheol alongside Park Bo-young.
