IU Amazes Fans by Perfectly Recreating Her 19-Year-Old Self in Nostalgic YouTube Video

Singer and actress IU, 34, has stunned fans by flawlessly recreating her 19-year-old appearance.

On November 1st, IU's YouTube channel '이지금' released a video titled "[IU TV] Unreleased Practice Video of 'You and I' from 15 Years Ago (The Day Before Comeback)."

In the video, IU not only brought back her hairstyle and makeup from that era but also reunited with her former dance team to stage a comeback rehearsal skit.

IU focused on recreating her signature makeup from the past. Her staff mentioned, “Yesterday's makeup was a bit light, so we got scolded. We've been drawing the eyeliner for an hour,” referring to the then-popular 'computer sign pen eyeliner.'

The makeup staff added, “It took an hour to fill in the eyes completely, both front and back,” sharing styling secrets from that time.

The video also captured the technical essence of the past. Unlike her usual high-definition videos, this one was limited to 720p to mimic the broadcast quality from 15 years ago.

IU's longtime hair and makeup team and dancers joined in to naturally recreate the backstage atmosphere and conversations, enhancing the authenticity.

Reflecting on the past, IU shared her 19-year-old dream of performing at the Gymnastics Arena, a goal she has since achieved with performances at both the Gymnastics Arena and the Main Stadium. She concluded the surprise event with subtitles expressing, “It was a joyful day filled with nostalgia.”

Meanwhile, IU is set to return to the small screen on April 10th with the MBC drama '21st Century Grand Lady,' alongside Byun Woo-seok.
