Actress Lim Soo-hyang has opened up about her struggle with acute hepatitis caused by excessive drinking.
On the October 24th episode of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star', episode 933, Lim Soo-hyang appeared as a guest alongside Kim Mi-kyung, Jang So-yeon, and Lee El.
During the show, Lim discussed how she gained a reputation for being a heavy drinker, saying, "Kang Min-kyung mentioned on the show that I was the strongest drinker among her, Shin Se-kyung, and me. The influence of 'Radio Star' is so strong that people now associate me with being a heavy drinker."
Lim revealed that her overindulgence led to health issues. She shared, "Last year, while promoting the drama 'Beauty and the Beast', I appeared on the show 'Shin Dong-yup's Sad Brother'. Ji Hyun-woo had to restrain himself due to filming the next day, so I ended up drinking a lot. Normally, I suffer from severe hangovers, so I don't drink much, but that day I drank excessively and ended up with hepatitis. I had to take medication for three months due to acute hepatitis."
Lim further added, "I experienced prolonged hangovers and vomited a lot. I couldn't function properly for a week. That's why I don't drink while filming dramas anymore."
