Oh My Girl's YooA expressed her excitement about her acting debut in 'Project Y'.
On the 18th, an open talk for the film 'Project Y', which was invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today - Special Premiere' section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), took place at the Busan Cinema Center in U-dong. Director Lee Hwan, along with actors Han So-hee, Jun Jong-seo, Kim Sung-cheol, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae-kyun, and YooA, attended the event.
'Project Y' tells the story of Mi-seon and Do-kyung, who, having nothing but each other, attempt to escape their dire circumstances by stealing hidden black money and 8 billion won worth of gold bars. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
YooA shared, "When I first read the script for the character Ha-kyung, I thought, 'This will be fun.' For those who remember me as Oh My Girl's YooA, I felt, as the director mentioned, that I could offer a 'refreshing betrayal.' I prepared diligently, thinking I could show the audience a different side of me. Since 'Project Y' is my first acting project, I believe I can strongly present myself as an actress." She added, "I'm thrilled to greet everyone as an actress. It's an honor to work with actors I admire and whose works I've followed. Please support my first project and watch 'Project Y' a lot."
