Netflix's 'The Great Flood' Set for December 19 Release: A Sci-Fi Disaster Epic Unveiled

Netflix has announced the release date for its upcoming film 'The Great Flood' as December 19, along with the unveiling of a teaser poster.

Starring Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo, 'The Great Flood' is a sci-fi disaster blockbuster that depicts the struggle for survival on the last day of Earth, submerged by a catastrophic flood. The film has been invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today - Special Premiere' section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

The teaser poster captivates with the image of a massive apartment complex completely submerged, resembling an underwater scene, evoking both awe and fear. Amidst the faintly penetrating light through the water, the silhouette of an adult and child embracing each other sparks curiosity about their fate. The tagline, "The only choice for humanity on the day the world ends," heightens intrigue about how the characters will navigate this unprecedented crisis of global inundation and potential human extinction.

Director Kim Byung-woo, known for 'The Terror Live' and 'PMC: The Bunker,' stated, "This film doesn't end with the disaster. The initial idea was to explore a story that could be both complex and simple through the disaster genre." The film promises to deliver intense excitement and a fresh genre style through the survival stories of its characters, highlighted by the compelling performances of Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo.

'The Great Flood' will be available on Netflix starting December 19.
