'Mary Kills People' is a suspense drama that follows a doctor who assists terminally ill patients with euthanasia and a detective who is on their trail. Following the broadcast of the first two episodes, the drama ranked first in the TV-OTT buzz rankings for news articles, as reported by the Good Data Corporation's Fundex Report. Actress Lee Bo-young ranked fourth in the TV-OTT drama actor buzz category.

In the first two episodes, veteran emergency medicine doctor Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young) was revealed to secretly assist patients with euthanasia. A complex relationship developed between Woo So-jung and terminal cancer patient Jo Hyun-woo (played by Lee Min-ki), who was later revealed to be Detective Ban Ji-hoon working undercover.

Woo So-jung's eyes reveal her heightened suspicion, while Jo Hyun-woo cautiously observes her, unaware of the reason behind her sudden change. The drama intensifies as Woo So-jung grapples with feelings of trust, betrayal, empathy, and fear towards Jo Hyun-woo, whom she had shared a kiss with. The mysterious phone call and the truth hidden between the two characters keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Lee Bo-young and Lee Min-ki deliver powerful performances in the pivotal 'euthanasia confrontation' scene, where their characters face a shocking twist. Lee Bo-young vividly portrays Woo So-jung's disbelief and shock, while Lee Min-ki captures Detective Ban Ji-hoon's internal conflict between guilt and duty.
