Heartwarming Moments Unfold on 'Dad and Me Season 3' with 97-Year-Old Veteran Trio

TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me Season 3' brought laughter and joy as Jeon Soo-kyung shared the delightful daily life of her 97-year-old father and his fellow veteran trio, averaging 95 years of age.

The episode aired on the 8th, featuring Jeon Soo-kyung and her father, who serves as the vice president of the 6.25 War Veterans Association. The show highlighted their everyday life and camaraderie.

Jeon Soo-kyung's father joined a meeting with the '94-year-old' president and the '81-year-old' youngest secretary-general to prepare for a battlefield pilgrimage. This event is a commemorative ceremony to honor and remember history by visiting actual battle sites. The 'principled' president expressed discomfort, saying, “Just watching videos of gunfire and artillery makes me sweat. Why revisit what we've already experienced?” However, Jeon Soo-kyung's father, with his 'free spirit,' cheerfully countered, “That's just a moment; we should enjoy ourselves again.”

Jeon Soo-kyung's father invited the two to his home for lunch. The president, upon seeing the cluttered room filled with items for efficient movement, remarked, “I couldn't live like this,” continuing their playful banter. Jeon Soo-kyung's father began grilling mackerel directly over a flame, adding his mother's secret recipe, a former royal chef, which filled the air with a delightful aroma. The president, intrigued by the smell, commented, “What a delicious aroma.” However, after an hour of preparation, the president's patience wore thin, and even Jeon Soo-kyung was surprised by the modest meal. The president humorously invited them to his home for a comparative experience.

Later, Jeon Soo-kyung prepared 'wild ginseng' as a dessert for the trio, also surprising her father with matching vests. Her father, slightly embarrassed, agreed to try it on, turning the moment into a fashion show. The president, who often clashed with Jeon Soo-kyung's father, praised him, saying, “He's a young old man. Wearing this makes him look younger than me, so I should call him 'hyungnim' (older brother).” Jeon Soo-kyung complimented the president, suggesting he must have been very popular. The president admitted, “I was popular. Many women followed me. You need courage to woo women. Romance requires bravery.” Jeon Soo-kyung's father humorously retorted, “Women came to me even without courage,” adding to the laughter.

In a rare moment, the president, who usually refrained from singing, encouraged Jeon Soo-kyung's father to sing in celebration of the housewarming. Jeon Soo-kyung's father performed 'Gyeongsangdo Agassi,' drawing applause from the president, secretary-general, and his daughter. The president also sang a cappella, and the two even performed a duet. The housewarming at the 97-year-old Jeon Soo-kyung's father's home concluded with a cheerful and harmonious atmosphere.
