'You Quiz on the Block' Tops Ratings Despite Cast Changes

'You Quiz on the Block,' hosted by popular entertainer Yoo Jae-suk, has claimed the top spot in viewership ratings for its time slot. This comes after cast member Jo Se-ho exited the show amid various controversies.

The episode aired on the 8th of this month, marking the 338th installment of the series, achieved an average rating of 3.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area, peaking at 5.1%. Nationwide, it recorded an average of 3.8% with a peak of 5.1%, securing the number one position among cable and general programming channels during its time slot. Additionally, it ranked first across all channels, including terrestrial networks, in the 20-49 age demographic, which is tvN's target audience, according to Nielsen Korea's paid platform data.

The episode, themed around the 'Blossom Special,' featured a diverse lineup of guests. These included Professor Joo Eun-yeon, who has spent 20 years researching insomnia amidst an era where 1.3 million people suffer from sleep disorders, and Han Loro, a rock star and youth icon dominating the charts. Also appearing were Park Min-cheol, a top divorce lawyer from the country's leading law firm, and Kim Nam-gil, who debuted as a rookie singer for a five-hour fan meeting, all engaging in candid conversations with Yoo Jae-suk.

Looking ahead, the next episode will feature South Korean soccer legend Ahn Jung-hwan and Professor Jung Hyun-chae, who has been lecturing on thanatology for 20 years. Additionally, viewers can anticipate the appearance of Yoo Ha-jin, a freshman at Seoul National University who chose to pursue education over medical and pharmaceutical studies, and the stars of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, raising expectations.
