Kwangsoo from the 26th season of 'I Am Solo' has sparked controversy by leaking spoilers and making disrespectful comments about fellow cast members.
On October 24, a video titled 'Behind the Scenes of the Superstar List of Apgujeong Crown Prince 26 Kwangsoo' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Roshaw'. The video featured Kwangsoo, a participant in the ENA and SBS Plus variety show 'I Am Solo'.
In the video, Kwangsoo addressed the criticism he received for his intense romantic pursuit of Hyunsook, saying, “I have a strong mentality, so negative comments don’t bother me, but it’s tough when my family is mentioned. My father is a soldier, and people say things like, 'How can a soldier’s child live in Apgujeong?' Criticizing my appearance is fine, but bringing up my family is painful.”
Recently, the show depicted Hyunsook choosing Kwangsoo over Youngho, leading to both receiving negative comments. Kwangsoo expressed, “It hurts to see Hyunsook getting criticized. We had chemistry, but it seems editing affected that perception.”
He continued, “I hope Hyunsook doesn’t receive too much criticism. I genuinely liked her. Some reviewers say we were fake for the show, but that’s not true.” Kwangsoo also clarified that he is not in contact with Hyunsook and they are not a real-life couple.
Kwangsoo further stirred controversy with his remarks about the 26th season participants, saying, “Many of them were pampered at home. Youngsoo was coddled into becoming a professor. Sunja, no need to mention. Youngsook was raised at home. Youngja was raised by her sister, according to her mother.”
He added, “Hyunsook and Jungsook are exceptions; they came from less privileged backgrounds and worked hard to become lawyers. I was also somewhat pampered.”
Kwangsoo also commented on Youngho, saying, “Youngho is struggling. He supposedly saves 70% of his salary, which doesn’t make sense given the modest salary of a public servant.”
Viewers reacted strongly, saying, “Who is he to judge others as pampered? His fellow cast members would be shocked and offended,” and “He lost to Youngho, who earns a modest public servant salary,” and “His comments are reckless. At his age, he should know better.”
