Actor Park Gun-hyung Reveals Romantic Proposal Story in Paris

Actor Park Gun-hyung shared the behind-the-scenes story of his marriage to his wife, Lee Chae-rim, who is 11 years his junior.

On the October 8th episode of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star,' Park appeared as a guest alongside actors Kim Soo-ro, Um Ki-joon, and Kim Hyung-mook in a special titled 'Men Living with King Suro.'

Park Gun-hyung married Lee Chae-rim, a non-celebrity, in 2014, and the couple has two children. Lee Chae-rim gained some public attention when she appeared with her husband on the show 'Cave Castle' in 2021.

Lee Chae-rim, who was known to have worked for a major corporation at the time of their marriage, is now working at the Meta Comedy Club. Park Gun-hyung mentioned, "She produces stand-up comedy, so she rarely laughs at my jokes."

Park revealed that he proposed to his wife in Paris. He said, "My wife doesn't like events, so I thought a lot about it. At that time, I was filming 'Real Men' and only had two days off. My wife was traveling in Paris with her mom, so I flew there with a banner."

He continued, "I arranged for a photographer to be my contact and informed my mother-in-law in advance. I appeared with a guitar on a cruise in front of Notre Dame. Even foreigners helped out. When my wife saw me, she sat down and cried."

Park Gun-hyung also shared details about their wedding, saying, "I wanted to make it as grand as any wedding hall. A college friend who is a lighting director brought the lights, and music director Kim Moon-jung arranged an 18-piece orchestra. The congratulatory song was performed by Yoo Jun-sang, Um Ki-joon, Kim Beop-rae, and Min Young-ki, with Kim Soo-ro as the host. It's been 12 years since we got married, and I haven't seen a wedding like ours since."
