Sung Han-bin, a member of the group ZEROBASEONE, has been selected as the new MC for 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (WOSWF). He takes over the baton from Kang Daniel, who has been the face of Mnet's dance survival program for over four years.
'World of Street Woman Fighter' is a large-scale global survival program where professional dancers from around the world compete for their country's honor. The first season of 'Street Woman Fighter' in August 2021 gained immense popularity, and the second season in 2023 broke its own record with a peak rating of 2.6%, surpassing the first season's 2.3%.
Returning for its third season, 'WOSWF' is back after nearly two years since the end of season 2 on October 31, 2023. This season expands its stage globally and introduces a new MC.
Kang Daniel, the previous host, initially received mixed reactions due to his pronunciation and script memorization. However, he eventually won positive reviews for his natural hosting and friendly charm. Fans speculate that his replacement might be influenced by his pending military service, as he was born in 1996.
An industry insider stated, "As 'WOSWF' expands to the global market, there was an intention to appoint a star with global fandom and influence as the MC." Sung Han-bin, the leader of ZEROBASEONE, was chosen for his outstanding responsibility and stable hosting skills. ZEROBASEONE has made history with all five of their albums, including their debut, achieving million-seller status.
Sung Han-bin was recognized for his dance skills even before his debut. He was a student of tutting dancer Spella and the only male member of the crew. During his participation in 'Boys Planet,' he impressed with a unique tutting performance and a spontaneous collaboration stage with Lip J.
He has also made a mark in the broadcasting industry. Since September 2023, he has been a regular MC for 'M Countdown' and served as the main MC for the 'AAA' awards for two consecutive years. He participated as a special MC for Mnet's 30th-anniversary chart show and is set to meet global fans at the upcoming KCON stage in May.
Sung Han-bin has consistently exceeded expectations as a host, memorizing scripts to maintain a natural flow. His deep understanding of dance is expected to help him grasp the essence of a dance survival program, making him a promising host for 'World of Street Woman Fighter.'
