TV CHOSUN's 'Dr. Shin' Delivers Shocking Twist with a Fatal Ending

TV CHOSUN's 'Dr. Shin' left viewers in shock with a 'tragic fate death ending' as Baek Se-ra and Song Ji-in, whose brains were switched, led to the demise of the body containing her daughter's brain.

In the third episode of TV CHOSUN's weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin' (directed by Lee Seung-hoon/written by Phoebe (Im Sung-han)), aired on the 21st at 10:30 PM, the story unfolded with Hyun Ran-hee (played by Song Ji-in) trapped in the body of Mo-mo (played by Baek Se-ra) after a brain-switch surgery, engulfed in ominous foreboding.

Upon waking in the recovery room, Mo-mo, with a trembling voice, asked Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) for a mirror to confirm her identity. Realizing she was in Mo-mo's body, Hyun Ran-hee remarked, "As long as it succeeded, that's all that matters," extending her hand. However, Shin Ju-shin was confused by Mo-mo's appearance but Hyun Ran-hee's speech, tearing up. Meanwhile, Hyun Ran-hee, now in Mo-mo's brain, regained consciousness but struggled with slurred speech and walking, feeling conflicted about her appearance. Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) hurriedly discharged Hyun Ran-hee (Mo-mo's brain) before Shin Ju-shin returned from an overseas seminar, leaving him distressed upon finding the empty recovery room.

Meanwhile, Geum Ba-ra (played by Joo Se-bin) grew suspicious of Mo-mo's seven-month seclusion and discovered Ha Yong-jung's (played by Ahn Woo-yeon) special feelings for Mo-mo. While drinking alone with Ha Yong-jung, Geum Ba-ra was upset by his willingness to take responsibility for Mo-mo if Shin Ju-shin gave up on her, storming off in frustration.

Upon returning to Mo-mo's house, Shin Ju-shin was bewildered by Mo-mo's continued use of Hyun Ran-hee's speech patterns. Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) cryptically assured Shin Ju-shin, "Don't worry, I'll handle it," and expressed her own confusion, "It's confusing, isn't it? I can't tell if I'm Mo-mo or looking at Mo-mo in the mirror." Struggling with his emotions, Shin Ju-shin left, reminiscing about his loving moments with Mo-mo, conflicted about living without her.

Later, Shin Ju-shin confronted Geum Ba-ra at the hospital, questioning her investigation into Mo-mo. Despite Geum Ba-ra's concern for Mo-mo's lack of contact, Shin Ju-shin deflected, saying, "She's abroad, I told her to take a break," and reminded Geum Ba-ra, a former Nua Foundation orphanage resident, of her father's pride in her. However, as their meeting ended, news of Mo-mo and Shin Ju-shin's engagement broke, leading to Geum Ba-ra publishing an exclusive interview from their conversation. Enraged, Shin Ju-shin accused her of betrayal, to which Geum Ba-ra apologized, "Please think of it as helping me grow," prompting Shin Ju-shin to warn, "Don't backstab me again, you owe me," before hanging up.

Simultaneously, Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) tearfully watched Hyun Ran-hee (Mo-mo's brain) struggle to eat ice cream, then bathed her and dressed her in a thin slip, laying her on the bed. Lowering the air conditioner to its coldest setting, Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) wrote a suicide note for Hyun Ran-hee, staging the scene as a depression-driven act, leaving the folded note beside the bed.

After completing the note, Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) texted Paul Kim (played by Ji Young-san), "When you find her... tell her mom was very sorry... make sure you find her." This flashback heightened curiosity about Paul Kim and Hyun Ran-hee's relationship, as Paul Kim's face hardened upon seeing Hyun Ran-hee, remarking, "You haven't changed at all." Mo-mo (Hyun Ran-hee's brain) watched Hyun Ran-hee (Mo-mo's brain) grow paler from hypothermia, bidding farewell, "Hyun Ran-hee lived hard. Is it karma? Even if it is, there's nothing I can do."

During a meeting with doctors, Shin Ju-shin received a call from Mo-mo, urgently saying, "Please come quickly, my mom..." Simultaneously, Geum Ba-ra at the police station heard, "It seems Mo-mo's mother attempted suicide," and released a breaking news alert, "Hyun Gallery CEO Hyun Ran-hee found dead at home, Mo-mo calls 119." The news shocked Ha Yong-jung, escalating the tension.
