According to distributor Showbox on the 9th, 'Suzume's Lockdown' ranked first at the box office, attracting 143,489 people on the first day of release on the 8th.
This is a record that surpasses the opening score of 'The First Slam Dunk', which was 62,090 people, and the opening score of 'Demon Slayer: Gathering Sanghyeon, and To the Potter Village', which was 64,955 people.
It broke the record for the highest opening score among the director's own works, exceeding the opening score of 138,028 for 'Your Name,' a film that solidified director Makoto Shinkai's position not only domestically but also globally.
