“For people like you, your family is the biggest perpetrator, so why do you have to go somewhere else to criticize them?”
I think it was probably the only correct thing that Park Yeon-jin (played by Lim Ji-yeon) said. The first perpetrator in Moon Dong-eun's (Song Hye-kyo) life was her mother, and the biggest perpetrator in Yeon-jin's life was also her mother.
The Netflix series 'The Glory' (written by Kim Eun-sook, directed by Ahn Gil-ho) features two villain mothers. Moon Dong-eun's mother Jeong Mi-hee (Park Ji-ah) and Park Yeon-jin's mother Hong Young-ae (Son Ji-na).
Jeong Mi-hee not only neglects her only daughter, Dong-eun, but also accepts the school violence suffered by Dong-eun in exchange for settlement money. Mi-hee, who had no interest in whether Dong-eun was dead or alive, always nodded when Yeon-jin came to her and said, 'I will give you money if you help Moon Dong-eun quit school.' He visits the mothers of students in Dong-eun's class and receives bribes from them. He lives in Dong-eun's room and invites men. This is a character who has no maternal love at all, making you wonder how she could do that.
Actress Park Ji-ah, who played the role of Mi-hee, was a perfect scene stealer, dominating the screen even though her role was only small. By casually throwing swear words and shouting, and showing off his presence with empty villain eyes, he succeeded in arousing the curiosity of viewers, asking, 'Who is that actor?'
Park Ji-ah, who graduated from the Department of Theater at Seoul Institute of the Arts, made her screen debut in the 2002 film 'Coastline' (directed by Kim Ki-duk) and appeared in five films directed by Kim Ki-duk. In particular, it has shown an overwhelming presence in horror films such as 'Gidam' (director Jeong Jeong) and 'Gonjiam' (director Jeong Beom-sik).
Park Yeon-jin's mother, Hong Young-ae, is even more so. Hong Young-ae knows about Park Yeon-jin's school violence and evil deeds, but she does not say, 'Don't do that.' He becomes a reliable supporter and corrects the evil deeds committed by Park Yeon-jin. Then, he kills Lee Seok-jae (played by Ryu Seong-hyun), who was threatening him, saying, "I know about the murder your daughter committed," by disguising it as a car accident. Up until this point, I thought she had an empty maternal love, but Hong Young-ae was a 'heartless' mother who abandoned her daughter without hesitation when Dong-eun demanded that she bring evidence of Park Yeon-jin's murder when she failed to reach an agreement on the accident and was in danger of being arrested.
Jina Son reliably portrays Hong Young-ae, who has blind faith in shamanism and is obsessed with money. The scene where he tells his daughter, who is making a fuss about how she could do this to me, "You get along well with your daughter, I'm not like that," left quite an impression on viewers.
Jina Son, who was previously known under the stage name Da-kyung Yoon, has recently been working under her real name, Jina Son. He debuted in theater in 1996 and acted in films such as ‘Secret Love’, ‘White Night’, and ‘Supernatural’. He met viewers by appearing in dramas such as ‘Hide and Seek’, ‘Devil Judge’, and ‘Ghost Doctor’. She also won the New Horizons Best Actress Award at the 2014 Abu Dhabi International Film Festival for the movie 'In Her Place'. Film director Yang Jeong-woong is her husband.
