Singer and actor Eru (Cho Seong-hyun), who was involved in a drunk driving accident last December, will appear in court on charges of attempting to 'switch drivers' three months before the incident.
The 2nd Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office recently indicted Eru without detention on charges of aiding a criminal to escape and violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
In September of last year, Eru was investigated by the police on charges of drinking and driving with female professional golfer A at a restaurant in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Although Mr. A and Eru denied the charge of drunk driving, saying that Mr. A was driving, it was reported that CCTV footage showed Eru getting into the driver's seat.
Accordingly, the police sent Mr. A to the prosecution in November on charges of switching drivers (criminal escape). In addition, circumstances were detected between Mr. A and Eru, and the charge of aiding and abetting the escape of a criminal was applied to Eru.
Iru was also charged with a drunk driving accident (violation of the Road Traffic Act) that occurred in December of last year. At the time, Iru had an accident hitting a guardrail on Gangbyeonbuk-ro in the direction of Guri near Dongho Bridge in Seoul. The blood alcohol content level was 0.075%, which is the level for license suspension. It was revealed that he drove more than 180 km/h on Gangbyeonbuk-ro, where the speed limit is 80 km/h.
Singer Tae Jin-ah's son, Eru, debuted as a singer in 2005 and released hit songs such as 'Black Glasses' and 'White Eyes.' He started acting in the 2017 drama 'You're Too Much' and appeared in 'Secret Man', 'Become Bob', and 'A Gentleman and a Lady'. She was scheduled to appear on KBS2's 'Secret Woman', which first aired last March, but was pulled out due to a drunk driving incident.
