Veteran Actress Kim Young-ok Reveals Past Gold Theft Incident

Veteran actress Kim Young-ok recently opened up about a past incident where she was robbed of gold worth millions of won.

On the 9th, a video titled 'Grandma's Gold First Reveal. What's the Gold Price? | Ringling Sister, Story of Gold Theft' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Kim Young-ok.' In the video, Kim gathered her accessories and silverware to meet with appraisal YouTuber Ringling Sister. She humorously remarked, "It's not much. Just what I wear."

Kim first presented ten sets of silver spoons, which Ringling Sister appraised at 2.27 million won. The silver cutlery she brought was also valued at around 720,000 won, surprising viewers.

She also had a gold necklace and bracelet bought for 1 million won and a watch purchased for 12 million won appraised. Although Kim expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "20 years ago, they undervalued the watch, offering less than a million won," the watch was appraised at 9.79 million won, and the gold accessories at 6.91 million won. Satisfied, she said, "Alright, I've got it. I'll wear them now." The total value of the gold she brought was a staggering 25 million won.

Kim also revealed that she had been a victim of gold theft, drawing attention. She recounted, "I came home on Christmas Eve to find my son calling to say there had been a break-in. It seems they opened the door through the milk chute." She added, "I had saved up to buy a 2-carat diamond worth over 20 million won, but I happened to take it off that day, and they took it all." Kim expressed her frustration, saying, "They searched the entire house. Only this ring was left, which saved me. It felt like losing a house."

Kim further shared, "I was robbed twice, even when I lived in a detached house." She recounted a shocking incident where someone pretended to fix the refrigerator and stole gold from her home. She continued, "I used to hang necklaces everywhere. My daughter said, 'Mom, you should wear your necklace,' but the door was locked. They took everything from my room." She lamented, "That year, I lost more than my earnings from the drama 'Seaside Village.'"

Meanwhile, Kim Young-ok, born in 1937, is now 88 years old. Last year, she revealed on her YouTube channel that she owns a 780-pyeong plot of land in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. At the time, she proudly stated, "It's land I bought with my sister. We built a stone wall. It's prime land for building a house."
