The Notorious Drug Lord Park Wang-yeol: From Murder to Massive Drug Trafficking
On October 4th at 8:30 PM, MBC Every1's 'Hidden Eye' will spotlight the criminal activities of Park Wang-yeol, one of Southeast Asia's 'top three drug lords.'
Park Wang-yeol once posed as a diligent businessman while working as a director at a tuna distribution company. However, he defrauded investors and participated in a multi-level crime scheme with damages exceeding 1 trillion won before fleeing to the Philippines. There, he operated an illegal casino and was caught on CCTV murdering three Korean acquaintances in a sugarcane field.
Notably, Park supplied drugs in quantities sufficient for tens of thousands of simultaneous users in Korea, quickly becoming a key figure in the drug trade within a year. Recently, it was revealed that he smuggled an additional 4.1 kg of methamphetamine, expanding the crime scale beyond the previously known 13 billion won.
Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-myung personally requested Park's extradition, leading to his return to Korea after nine years. However, concerns remain about his potential return to the Philippines and the possibility of further crimes in a so-called 'luxury incarceration' environment.
'Hidden Eye' plans to analyze Park Wang-yeol's criminal patterns, methods, and organizational structure, highlighting the dangers of drug crimes.
