Esom Reflects on Her Role in 'Shin & Law Firm' as the Series Concludes

Esom shares her thoughts as 'Shin & Law Firm' wraps up.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin & Law Firm' concluded with a final episode rating of 7.6%. The series had previously peaked at a 10.0% rating during its sixth episode and recorded 9.5% in its eighth. However, ratings dropped to 6.7% following the premiere of MBC's '21st Century Grand Lady' starring IU and Byun Woo-seok on the 10th.

In the drama, Esom portrayed elite lawyer Han Na-hyun. Initially, Han Na-hyun was the epitome of 'cold Na-hyun,' viewing every case through logic and facts, stopping at nothing to win. Yet, Esom's portrayal added depth, revealing hidden scars and pain through subtle expressions and glances, sparking curiosity about her character.

When the character's backstory was finally unveiled, Esom's strong acting skills shone. The poignant tale of longing for an unreachable sister and facing another farewell moved viewers to tears. Esom's nuanced performance, balancing restraint and emotional outbursts, completed the character's narrative.

Esom's romance storyline was another highlight. Amidst the serious pursuit of cases, her chemistry with Shin Yi-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) brought both excitement and laughter. Despite being rivals, they gradually grew closer, naturally portraying their developing feelings and painting the screen with romance.

Esom expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the viewers who loved and supported 'Shin & Law Firm' for eight weeks. This project reminded me of the importance of listening to someone's story. I hope this message reached the audience. I look forward to returning with new projects and characters."

Meanwhile, Esom is set to appear in the 2027 film 'Wave.'
