Kim Tae-hee Shines in MBC's 'The Manager' as JUNGSAEMMOOL's Global K-Beauty Journey Unfolds
On the October 3rd episode of MBC's variety show 'The Manager' (Episode 396), JUNGSAEMMOOL made her first appearance in four years. The top makeup artist, who has built a brand under her name, revealed her current status as a leader in global K-beauty, achieving an impressive annual revenue of 135 billion won last year and expanding to 3,400 stores across 21 countries.
At her company, which employs over 100 staff, JUNGSAEMMOOL demonstrated her dedication by personally testing and comparing colors to develop eye makeup suitable for various eye colors. Her remarkable scrapbook, filled with analyses of facial bone structure, anatomy, skin thickness, and tone collected since her teenage years, laid the foundation for her success.
Despite her legendary charisma, JUNGSAEMMOOL faced a humorous reality check as a mother. Shocked by her teenage daughter's use of a dirty puff for makeup, she personally cleaned her brushes and puffs. The discovery of her daughter's pouch filled with products from other brands, along with the painful review that "this seems better than mom's products," left her visibly flustered. Even with her golden touch, she struggled to meet her daughter's picky eyeliner requests, highlighting the relatable clash between a menopausal mother and her teenage daughter, bringing laughter to viewers.
The following day, JUNGSAEMMOOL participated in an interview content shoot with legends Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, who visited Korea to promote 'The Devil Wears Prada 2.' Alongside Tiffany Young from Girls' Generation as a co-MC, JUNGSAEMMOOL meticulously prepared by reviewing the English script, successfully leading the interview and impressing with gifts that captured the essence of Korean culture. Anne Hathaway's compliment, "I want to get my makeup done as soon as possible," further solidified JUNGSAEMMOOL's status as a K-beauty icon.
Next week's episode will feature actor Lee Yeon, known for his role in the drama '21st Century Grand Lady,' showcasing his 'old man' side with morning hikes and traditional meals, as well as his transformation into a 'good vibe' barista. The episode will also reveal his playful chemistry with IU during a joint photo shoot, adding humor to the scene.
Choi Kang-hee will also return to 'The Manager,' spending a day at a friend's house in Seoul, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences. At a vacuum cleaner commercial shoot, she will quickly switch to professional mode, displaying her quirky and lovable charm as a 'life traveler.'
