Kim Hwan-hee, known for her iconic line "What's important?" from the movie 'The Wailing,' captivates audiences with her impressive performance in 'Scarecrow.' At 25, Kim is a top student at Hanyang University's Department of Theater and Film, receiving a full scholarship.

ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow' is a crime thriller about a detective investigating a serial murder case who unexpectedly teams up with someone he despises. Kim plays Min-ji, a high school student who becomes a key figure in the investigation.

In 'Scarecrow,' Min-ji is portrayed as an ordinary high school girl who helps her friend Jeong-rin (played by Gong Ah-reum) interact with Ki-beom (played by Song Geon-hee), who runs a local bookstore with his brother. However, this tranquility is shattered when Jeong-rin becomes the fourth victim of the serial killer. During her witness testimony, Min-ji reveals the presence of a suspicious scarecrow at the crime scene, providing Detective Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo) with a crucial clue. She also recalls and sketches the scene, noting the scarecrow's eerie smile.

Tragically, Min-ji becomes the next victim, leaving a profound impact. Before the incident, she encounters Tae-joo at the bookstore while retrieving her art supplies. Tae-joo, who has quit the police force, warns her, "If you see something like a scarecrow at night, run." Min-ji jokingly offers him two caramels as a bribe, asking him to catch the killer. Later, while walking home alone at night, she encounters the scarecrow, remembers Tae-joo's warning, and tries to escape, but is ultimately caught and killed under a bridge.

Kim Hwan-hee delivers a powerful performance, bringing depth to her character with her stable acting skills. In a poignant scene where she retrieves a textbook Jeong-rin had ordered, Kim conveys the overwhelming grief of remembering her friend, evoking sympathy from viewers. Her portrayal of fear and confusion when facing the killer is palpable, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.

As Kim Hwan-hee kicks off the year with 'Scarecrow,' anticipation builds for her future roles.
