Yoo Yeon-seok Uncovers Dark Family Secrets in 'Shin & Law Office'
In the 13th episode of SBS's 'Shin & Law Office' (directed by Shin Joong-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Chul-kyu), aired on the night of the 24th at 9:50 PM, Shin I-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) regains consciousness after a fierce battle and encounters the spirit of the young victim, Yoon Si-ho (played by Park Da-on), leading him to the case's breakthrough.
During the episode, Shin I-rang faced a life-threatening moment of soul separation due to a gunshot by kidnapper Jo Chi-young (played by Lee Sang-woon). However, he miraculously survived thanks to the desperate cries of Yoon Si-ho, who couldn't leave the living world.
Shin I-rang sharply delved into Jo Chi-young's psyche, who committed the crime out of a misguided sense of compensation after losing his child. By channeling Yoon Si-ho's spirit, he shook the perpetrator's conscience. Moved by the child's pure heart towards his parents, Jo Chi-young eventually confessed in tears, leading to the discovery of Yoon Si-ho's body, allowing the child a brief reunion with his parents before resting in peace.
However, the peaceful moments are short-lived as Shin I-rang is shocked to confront the unjust prosecution case his father, Shin Ki-jung (played by Choi Won-young), was involved in. Yoon Jae-wook (played by Go Sang-ho), Yoon Si-ho's father, reveals that Shin Ki-jung, as a prosecutor, had pressured his father, teacher Yoon Dae-myung, to death for preferential treatment, leading to a lawsuit withdrawal.
Burdened by guilt for living as the perpetrator's family, Shin I-rang bows his head in sincere apology to the victim. The episode ends with a twist as Shin Ki-jung appears as a client at Shin I-rang's office, and Shin I-rang, filled with anger towards his father, declares his refusal to take the case, hinting at an inevitable confrontation between father and son.
