Trot Queen Jang Yoon-jeong Takes on 'Nego King' as the Ultimate Boss
On September 19, Jang Yoon-jeong was announced as the new MC for the latest season of 'Nego King,' becoming the 8th 'Nego King.'
Upon receiving the offer, Jang expressed her surprise, saying, “I was curious about what image they had in mind.” The production team revealed their casting decision, stating, “We wanted to bring out a strong image based on her friendly persona as the 'ultimate boss.'” Known for her extensive work as an advertising model, Jang confidently stated, “I’m close with the chairmen,” and expressed her determination to create an atmosphere where refusal is not an option, adding, “I will study to persuade on pricing.”
In the first episode, Jang visited a cosmetics brand to begin her negotiations. She meticulously prepared by analyzing past 'Nego King' episodes, researching the lowest prices, and personally testing the products. Through citizen interviews, she identified consumer needs and conducted employee interviews to build a strong foundation for persuasive negotiations.
Jang even offered concert invitations as part of her negotiation terms, leveraging her power as a 'national singer' to achieve a groundbreaking deal in the first episode. The video surpassed 1.26 million views as of the 17th, solidifying her title as the 'ultimate boss.'
In subsequent episodes, she negotiated deals for protein shakes, sanitary pads, and hangover remedies. With her long-standing ability to connect with the public, Jang successfully convinced brands to recognize the 'Jang Yoon-jeong effect' as a valuable asset, securing significant discounts. Her natural communication skills and thorough analysis showcased her as a 'prepared MC' in negotiations.
In December last year, Jang launched her personal channel 'Jang Gongjang Jang Yoon-jeong,' where she shares a variety of content, from daily life with friends and colleagues to behind-the-scenes music work.
