Jin Ki-joo Joins New KBS Drama 'Sleeping Doctor'
Actress Jin Ki-joo has confirmed her role in the new KBS 2TV drama 'Sleeping Doctor'.

'Sleeping Doctor' is a romantic drama set in a struggling private psychiatric clinic, featuring the story of novice entrepreneur 'Gap' Hong Kyung and the versatile pay doctor 'Eul' Nam Ji-oh. The drama is directed by Lee Hyun-kyung, known for 'Cinderella Game' and 'Drama Special 2023 - Confession Attack', and written by Baek Eun-kyung, who penned 'Once Upon a Small Town'. With Jin Ki-joo joining the cast, expectations for the drama are high.

Jin Ki-joo will play the role of Hong Kyung, the director of 'Healer Mental Health Clinic'. Hong Kyung is a skilled psychiatrist with deep-seated trauma. She opens a private clinic for a fresh start but ironically falls asleep in front of patients, facing challenges.

While struggling to keep her neighborhood clinic afloat, Hong Kyung meets pay doctor Nam Ji-oh (played by Kim Sung-cheol), marking a turning point in her life. Jin Ki-joo is set to portray the complex inner world of a doctor who heals others but cannot heal her own trauma.

Jin Ki-joo has showcased her wide acting range in dramas like 'Undercover High School', 'Uncle Sam-sik', and 'Run Into You'. She solidified her presence by winning the Best Actress Award at the MBC Drama Awards last year for 'Undercover High School'. Fans are eager to see what new facets she will bring to her role in 'Sleeping Doctor'.

The production team of 'Sleeping Doctor' expressed their excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to work with Jin Ki-joo. The synergy between the charming character Hong Kyung and Jin Ki-joo will be something to look forward to. The drama will offer warm empathy and comfort by addressing human concerns and wounds through the contrast between a doctor who cannot heal herself and a pay doctor who revives a failing clinic."

'Sleeping Doctor' has completed its production preparations and is set to begin filming soon.
