Former Baseball Star Yang Joon-hyuk Reveals $5 Million Loss in Failed Business Venture
Yang Joon-hyuk, who recently married someone 19 years his junior, has opened up about losing the $5 million he earned during his baseball career due to a failed business venture.

On the upcoming episode of KBS2's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' (Episode 352), airing on the 12th, Yang Joon-hyuk, along with Jung Ho-young and Jung Ji-sun, travels to Hong Kong. During the trip, Yang candidly shares his painful past of losing his entire fortune from his baseball days after seeing a steamed rockfish dish.

Jung Ho-young takes Jung Ji-sun and Yang Joon-hyuk to Lamma Island, the hometown of Chow Yun-fat and a fishing village. Yang, who runs a fish farm and restaurant in Guryongpo, joins as a prospective investor. As his companions urge him to buy seafood, Yang hints at a generous spending spree. Upon entering a seafood restaurant, Yang is fascinated by a clam shaped like an elephant's trunk, prompting Jung Ji-sun and Jung Ho-young to start ordering seafood immediately.

As Jung Ji-sun and Jung Ho-young continue to order lobsters, elephant clams, and mantis shrimp, Yang humorously asks, "Did you guys starve for days? Why are you ordering so much?" leading to laughter. After unexpectedly spending 550,000 won on seafood, Yang jokes, "Don't leave any leftovers," with a hearty laugh.

Upon seeing the massive steamed rockfish, Yang comments, "It's hard to grow rockfish to this size, but they did well," showcasing his knowledge of fish. When Jung Ho-young suggests raising rockfish and yellowtail together, Yang, with a sorrowful look, reveals, "I once tried farming rockfish, abalone, parrotfish, and flounder, but it all failed," adding, "The 5 billion won I saved during my playing days all went into the fish farm."

Yang Joon-hyuk's story of business failure, despite his current annual revenue of 3 billion won, will be revealed on 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' airing at 4:40 PM.
