Kim Geum-soon's Powerful Performance Shines in Penultimate Episode of 'Siren'
The tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren', which has consistently topped its time slot on cable and general programming channels, is now just one episode away from its finale. As the series races towards its conclusion, Kim Geum-soon, who plays the role of 'Kim Sun-ae', the chairwoman of Royal Auction, has continued to deliver a commanding performance.
In the 11th episode, aired on the 6th, viewers were left shocked by the fate of Chairwoman Kim. Han Seol-ah (played by Park Min-young) exposed a counterfeit painting that had been submitted without internal verification under Kim's orders, putting pressure on her. It was also revealed that artworks from the Taemyung Cultural Foundation, thought to be lost in a fire, were actually forgeries, with the genuine pieces hidden in a secret vault. The revelation that Han Seol-ah's father was once branded a forger due to Kim's actions added to the drama's intensity.
Even after her misdeeds were uncovered, Kim remained unflappable in the interrogation room and in front of Han Seol-ah. However, she was later found hanging in the secret vault, leaving the circumstances of her death ambiguous. The discovery of Kim's secret ledger on Do Eun-hyuk's (played by Han Jun-woo) desk added further intrigue.
Kim Geum-soon captivated audiences with her unwavering demeanor and commanding presence, even in the most extreme situations. Her portrayal left a lasting impression, maintaining her composure and dignity as the truth unfolded. Her powerful performance amplified the allure of the romance thriller, heightening the tension as the series approaches its finale.
As the series concludes, Kim Geum-soon expressed her gratitude, saying, “Playing the chairwoman throughout the series was both joyful and sorrowful.
