Lee Joo-yeon Unveils Hidden Truths in the Finale of 'Your Glorious Season'
In the final episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Glorious Season', aired on the 3rd, Lee Joo-yeon played the role of Cha Soo-jin, a pivotal character who uncovers the distorted memories of Sun Woo-chan (played by Chae Jong-hyeop) and the truth behind the Boston explosion incident from seven years ago.
Cha Soo-jin, the only person aware of the full story that Sun Woo-chan cannot completely remember, has been driving the tension in the latter half of 'Your Glorious Season'. She had previously accused Sun Woo-chan of being responsible for Kang Hyuk-chan's death, suffering from guilt as a doctor. Ultimately, she confesses the truth she had hidden for seven years to Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyung), providing a crucial moment to clear Song Ha-ran's misunderstanding of Sun Woo-chan.
On this day, Cha Soo-jin cautiously begins her confession to Song Ha-ran, saying, “I’m sorry. Seven years ago, I did something bad to you, Ha-ran.” She then reveals the background of her closeness with Kang Hyuk-chan during their student days and the events of the accident day, instantly drawing viewers in. She admits, “I lied because I wanted to protect Hyuk-chan, who was already dead,” exposing her guilt-ridden inner self.
Lee Joo-yeon skillfully portrays the complex emotions of a character who appears confident and cold on the outside but harbors anxiety, wounds, and secrets within. Through the unfolding past narrative, she convincingly explains why Cha Soo-jin had to make such choices, fostering understanding and empathy for the character.
Lee Joo-yeon expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for enjoying 'Your Glorious Season' until the end. It was a very happy time to greet you as the character Cha Soo-jin.”
