On the latest episode of 'Brave Detectives 5', detectives pursued criminals driven by greed to the very end.

The second episode, aired on October 3rd on T-Cast E Channel, featured Kim Myeon-jung, head of the Incheon Michuhol Police Department, former KCSI Commissioner Yoon Wae-chul, and Inspector Kim Jin-soo, who shared their investigation logs. Before introducing the case, Yoon Doo-joon advised viewers to have their phones ready and pay attention. Detective Kim revealed a case where a man in his 30s assaulted a woman in her 20s, tracked down through a photo posted in an open chat room. He emphasized the importance of disabling location data on photos shared on social media for safety.

The main case began with the mention of Jeong In-sook, a central figure in a 1960s political scandal. The mysterious death of Jeong, a secret bar worker, was linked to the case involving her son. Detective Kim, while in the organized crime investigation unit, was called to assist in a case where a golf course owner, his son, and their driver disappeared after leaving the airport. CCTV captured a white vehicle with a partially obscured license plate transporting them.

The vehicle was rented the day before the abduction, and the registered owner was a gang leader wanted for murder. However, Detective Kim discovered the gang leader's ID was stolen, leading the case in an unexpected direction. The investigation turned public, and within three hours of news coverage, the victims escaped. The golf course owner claimed they were not kidnapped but arrested by the National Intelligence Service on espionage charges. They were blindfolded and handcuffed, taken to a pension, and managed to escape when someone loosened their cuffs.

Despite suspicions of a 'staged incident', Detective Kim, unconvinced by the NIS involvement, investigated further. Toll records and CCTV analysis revealed a suspicious additional vehicle with obscured plates. The pension showed signs of prior rental and multiple occupants, indicating it was not a simple misunderstanding. The vehicle was traced to a law firm in Gangnam, where a former chief prosecutor, now a lawyer, was encountered. The lawyer, familiar with the golf course, claimed the abduction was a 'staged incident' and mentioned the golf course owner's uncle, who had embezzled funds using the golf course as collateral.

The investigation revealed the uncle planned to sell the golf course using the owner's corporate seal, with intentions to kill and dispose of the body if necessary. He aimed to gain 350 billion won, intending to give 150 billion won to Jeong's son, who was falsely introduced as a foreign financial company representative. Jeong's son deceived the uncle into believing the golf course owner owed him 200 billion won, promising repayment upon the sale of the golf course. Jeong's son planned to sell the golf course using a fake shareholder list.

The former prosecutor orchestrated the scheme, including posing as NIS agents, fake arrest warrants, and using the gang leader's ID. He was also the brother of a city council member involved in a previously featured murder-for-hire case. Profiler Kwon Il-yong remarked, "It's money as elusive as a mirage. Blinded by greed." The uncle received a two-year sentence, the lawyer four years, and Jeong's son three years.

The KCSI introduced another case where a perpetrator warned a victim, "I'm going to kidnap the lady today," before committing the crime. It began with a report from a man who lost contact with his sister. She disappeared after last contacting him from her boyfriend's house. The case, involving a missing woman in her 20s, raised concerns of a violent crime, prompting an immediate check of financial records. It was discovered that 900,000 won was withdrawn from an ATM four hours after the last contact, escalating the case to a violent crime investigation. CCTV captured a masked and capped man, leading to a pursuit.

A shadow over the vehicle's roof identified it as a taxi. On the fifth day of the missing report, the decomposed body of the missing woman was found on a highway shoulder. The autopsy revealed death by strangulation, with signs of sexual assault.

CCTV analysis of the area revealed suspicious taxi movements, leading to a 40-year-old man with four prior convictions for robbery as the prime suspect. He confessed to committing the crime due to overdue taxi payments. The victim attempted to flee after hearing his chilling words, but he forced her back into the car to continue the crime. In court, he submitted a letter of apology, claiming, "If she hadn't resisted, I wouldn't have killed her." Annoyed, Ahn Jung-hwan retorted, "How could she not resist? That's nonsense." He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
