Cha Tae-hyun and Co-Hosts Share Insights on 'Young Talent Discovery Infinity'

SBS's 'Young Talent Discovery Infinity' is set to premiere on April 2 at 9 PM. This generational expansion project not only discovers hidden talents across the nation but also highlights their growth and future. Returning after seven years, this season features Cha Tae-hyun, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and Mimiminu as the 3MCs, leading a unique narrative that connects the past and present.

In a related interview, Cha Tae-hyun, Mimi, and Mimiminu shared their thoughts on joining as MCs and revealed key points to watch in the program. Cha Tae-hyun stated, “As a parent myself, I naturally became interested. I've always been curious about what these talented kids think and how their parents raise them.” He added, “During the recordings, I realized that these kids are not just naturally gifted; the effort behind their talents is truly immense. It was impressive and admirable.”

Mimi also expressed her affection for the program. She said, “It's a program that received a lot of love, and as a viewer, I was excited to see how the young talents from the past have grown.” She continued, “While recording, I felt that perhaps we focus too much on the 'genius' title and overlook their passion and effort.” Mimiminu added, “As someone who enjoyed 'Young Talent Discovery' in the past, I was curious about how those young talents have grown. Seeing these naturally gifted kids think about society as well as themselves made me reflect a lot.”

Interestingly, all three MCs agreed that they never considered themselves 'geniuses.' Cha Tae-hyun humorously admitted, “I've never thought of myself as a genius, but when I passed the KBS audition in 1995, I thought, 'Oh, I have some talent in this area.'”

Mimi candidly shared, “Honestly, I've never felt like a genius or tried to become one. Growing up, I realized how important and valuable consistency and effort are.” Mimiminu humbly stated, “I've thought I might speak a bit better than others, but I've never considered myself a genius. Since genius isn't born from effort alone, I was far from being a genius in my childhood.”

Finally, the three MCs clearly stated why 'Young Talent Discovery Infinity' is a must-watch. Cha Tae-hyun emphasized, “It's not just a program introducing smart kids; it captures the growth narrative of a child, making it more meaningful. Especially, seeing past participants meet new talents will be a fascinating viewing point.”

Mimi added, “The show not only answers viewers' long-standing questions but also provides positive inspiration and warm healing through the pure passion and effort of the young talents.” Mimiminu concluded, “The core of this season is the interaction between current and past talents, creating positive synergy.
