Moon Jung-hee's Character Faces Truth and Transformation in 'Efficient Meeting of Singles'
In the latest episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'Efficient Meeting of Singles,' aired on the 29th, Son Jung-ah, played by Moon Jung-hee, discovers the hidden truth behind her love with her husband, hospital director Shin Ji-hoon, portrayed by Choi Won-young. She decides to divorce, marking a new turning point in their relationship with a dignified move to correct the past.
Jung-ah becomes aware of the truth during Ji-hoon's hospital director inauguration ceremony, overhearing a conversation between fellow doctors. She learns that her relationship with Ji-hoon began before his previous wife's passing, throwing her into confusion. Ultimately, Jung-ah sends divorce papers to Ji-hoon, ending what she once believed to be a 'legendary love.'
Jung-ah visits the café where Ji-soo, played by Lee Ki-taek, works to inform him about the divorce proceedings. She confirms that their relationship began during a difficult time when Ji-soo's mother was undergoing chemotherapy. Jung-ah offers a heartfelt apology, saying, "I'm handling this secretly. I recently discovered there was deceit in my relationship. I checked your mother's medical records myself. I met him during her chemotherapy. I didn't know. I'm sorry." Her decision to face the past and take responsibility adds depth to her character, leaving a lasting impression.
Particularly in the scene where she calmly declares her divorce to Ji-soo and sincerely apologizes, Moon Jung-hee conveys a mix of bitterness and regret, reflecting her character's shame for her mistakes. Her restrained portrayal amidst complex emotions solidifies the character's depth, naturally garnering support for Son Jung-ah.
'Efficient Meeting of Singles' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
