Obsessive Love Leads to Tragic End in 'Siren': Kim Jung-hyun's Dark Secret Unveiled

Kim Jung-hyun's obsessive love for Park Min-young culminates in a blood-soaked tragedy.

In the 8th episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren,' aired on the 24th, it was revealed that Baek Jun-beom (played by Kim Jung-hyun) is actually Lee Soo-ho (played by Kim Dong-jun), Han Seol-ah's (played by Park Min-young) former lover. Baek Jun-beom's misguided love leads to a horrific downfall.

The episode garnered a nationwide household rating of 4%, peaking at 5.1%, maintaining its position as the number one cable and general programming channel in its time slot for eight consecutive episodes.

Han Seol-ah suspects CEO Baek Jun-beom, a prime suspect in the murder of her former lovers, and confirms through a private meeting that he was close friends with her ex-boyfriend, Lee Soo-ho. When asked if he approached her for revenge, Baek Jun-beom claims it was out of curiosity, but Han Seol-ah senses there is more to his words.

Han Seol-ah believes Baek Jun-beom's intentions are too extreme to be merely for revenge, as there was no need to plan the murder of a charity team leader she was close to. After hearing Han Seol-ah's thoughts, Cha Woo-seok (played by Wi Ha-joon) suspects there is more to the relationship between Lee Soo-ho and Baek Jun-beom and decides to analyze their DNA.

Han Seol-ah and Cha Woo-seok seize the opportunity to obtain Baek Jun-beom's DNA at a VIP preview exhibition. When Baek Jun-beom suddenly experiences breathing difficulties after sipping champagne, Han Seol-ah administers first aid, and Cha Woo-seok quickly takes the syringe used for the blood analysis.

At the same time, Han Seol-ah instinctively connects Baek Jun-beom's allergic reaction, her first aid actions, and his stories about Lee Soo-ho, leading her to suspect that Baek Jun-beom might actually be Lee Soo-ho. She confronts Baek Jun-beom, asking if he has something he truly wants to say, and he leads her to a secluded place.

Arriving at a remote location, Han Seol-ah recalls conversations with Lee Soo-ho as she observes the two-story house, yard, birch trees, and swing. Realizing Baek Jun-beom and Lee Soo-ho are the same person, she calls out, "Soo-ho."

Hearing his name, Baek Jun-beom turns with teary eyes and a faint smile, and Han Seol-ah sees Lee Soo-ho's face in him, sending her into a panic. Baek Jun-beom's twisted desire to possess Han Seol-ah, even at the cost of himself, erupts into a dangerous and intense struggle.

Meanwhile, Cha Woo-seok confirms that Baek Jun-beom and Lee Soo-ho's DNA are identical and enters Baek Jun-beom's home, shocked to find a board filled with details about Han Seol-ah, clear evidence of stalking. Alarmed, Cha Woo-seok calls the police, who recognize the urgency and join him in searching for Han Seol-ah and Baek Jun-beom.

Upon arriving at the scene, Cha Woo-seok finds Baek Jun-beom lying in a pool of blood and Han Seol-ah standing nearby, her face stained with blood and in a state of shock. Seeing Cha Woo-seok, Han Seol-ah breaks down in tears, evoking sympathy. The mystery of what transpired between Han Seol-ah and Baek Jun-beom deepens.

The fate of Park Min-young, found bloodied next to her former lover's body, will be revealed in the 9th episode of 'Siren,' airing on the 30th at 8:50 PM.
