Intense Showdown on 'Legend of the Unknown': Sungri and Hangarak Battle for Survival

Sungri, a standout from 'Produce 101' Season 2, is set to showcase his vocal prowess without relying on performance in the intense competition of 'Legend of the Unknown'.

The ongoing team deathmatch on MBN's trot audition show 'Legend of the Unknown: The Rank War of Trot Men' (hereafter 'Legend of the Unknown') has released a sneak peek of its fifth episode's top leader battle.

Since the 23rd, 'Legend of the Unknown' has been unveiling preview videos of the fifth episode on its official social media. The videos feature a high-stakes showdown between the top leaders: Hangarak, the leader of the unknown team, and Sungri, the leader of the famous team, along with Haru and Hwang Yoon-seong, who are fighting for their teams' survival.

The 'Unknown vs. Famous Team Deathmatch' unfolds in two rounds, including a team battle and a top leader battle, with the outcome determined by combined scores. The winning team advances to the next round, while the losing team faces elimination, placing immense pressure on the leaders.

The spotlight is on the face-off between Hangarak and Sungri, both of whom secured first place in their respective preliminary rounds. In a previous team battle themed 'Fatal Men', the score difference was a mere single vote, showcasing a neck-and-neck competition. Although Sungri's team emerged victorious after combining the national pro panel scores, the top leader battle could change the fate of the entire team.

According to the preview, Hangarak, known for his deep tone and emotional depth, and Sungri, who combines unique performance with stable vocals, have chosen Jang Yoon-jung's 'Aega Ta' for the top leader battle. As soon as the intro began, both artists captivated the audience with their immersive stage presence.

Hangarak delivered a performance filled with deep emotion and a resonant voice, while Sungri added delicate emotional expression to his unwavering vocals. Their brief exchanges created palpable tension and excitement, filling the stage with their voices alone and proving why they were chosen as 'TOP1' in their respective categories.

Meanwhile, Haru and Hwang Yoon-seong faced off in a different atmosphere. Haru's team had previously secured a near-certain victory with a score of 406 to 131, ensuring the survival of all team members. In the preview, Hwang Yoon-seong encouraged himself by saying, “It’s not over until it’s over,” and challenged Haru with, “If I were your age, I would have lived diligently,” preparing for a miraculous comeback in the top leader battle.

As the stage began, both artists, having chosen Na Hoon-a's 'Palja', took the audience back a decade, sharing their stories through song. Haru and Hwang Yoon-seong showcased their vocal strengths in both low and high tones, charming the audience with their lovable appeal and making the top pro panel's decision even more challenging, heightening anticipation for the main broadcast.

The upcoming fifth episode of 'Legend of the Unknown', airing on the 25th at 9:40 PM, will reveal the previously unseen battles between TOP4 teams Lee Dae-hwan and Park Min-soo, as well as the team battle results between TOP5 teams Kim Tae-woong and Kang Tae-kwan.
