On the October 22nd episode of SBS's variety show 'My Heart is Mongle Mongle - Mongle Counseling Center' (hereafter 'Mongle Counseling Center'), the final reactions of Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon to the dating experiences of young adults with developmental disabilities (referred to as 'Mongle') were revealed.
During the episode, Yoo Ji-hoon attempted to lead his date, Jeon So-yeon, by naturally offering his hand at the skating rink, asking, "Shall I hold your hand?" Observing this, Lee Hyori encouraged, "The more I see Ji-hoon, the more I think he's a good person, but I wish he would relax a bit."
However, contrary to expectations, the date began to go awry. Differences in communication styles led to a tense atmosphere, and a small choice widened the emotional gap.
Particularly, when Jeon So-yeon complained of foot pain and left the rink, saying, "You can keep skating," Yoo Ji-hoon responded, "I'll skate a bit more," leaving her alone. Witnessing this, Lee Sang-soon was taken aback, saying, "No, that's not right," while Lee Hyori couldn't hide her regret.
Lee Hyori remarked, "It's unfortunate because he tried hard," adding, "It seems like a misunderstanding due to not knowing each other well." She continued, "It would have been better if they had expressed themselves a bit more," lamenting their missed timing.
A few days later, Lee Hyori invited Yoo Ji-hoon to her yoga studio. To help Yoo Ji-hoon, who was tense and anxious, she prepared a one-on-one yoga session. Lee Hyori guided him step by step, saying, "Don't try too hard to breathe; just breathe naturally."
She explained, "When you're on a date or out alone, you might feel tense thinking 'something might go wrong.' In such cases, practicing this breathing can help you feel more at ease."
Lee Hyori emphasized, "It's important to gain experience," advising, "If you keep trying, you'll realize 'it's not as bad as I thought, nothing much happens.'"
Watching the subsequent date scenes, Lee Sang-soon commented, "We should also avoid being confined by rules when we talk," showing a satisfied reaction.
Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon expressed their hopes, "The magnolias have bloomed. It seems like spring is coming. We hope spring comes to the Mongle's love lives too, and their flower buds bloom fully."
Meanwhile, SBS's special 'My Heart is Mongle Mongle - Mongle Counseling Center' is an 8-week journey where young adults with developmental disabilities (referred to as 'Mongle') receive dating coaching from 'Counselors' Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon, as they embark on finding their first love.
