Actor Kim Byung-se (65) revealed on 'My Ugly Duckling' that he has decided to end his five-year journey with IVF treatments, sharing heartfelt sentiments about his wife.

On the October 22nd episode of SBS's 'My Ugly Duckling,' Kim Byung-se, who returned to Korea with his wife, 15 years his junior, invited close friends Kim Seung-soo and Lim Won-hee to his home, where he shared behind-the-scenes stories of his marriage.

During the episode, the couple, who are in their eighth year of marriage, expressed their affection for each other, saying, "There's still nothing I dislike about her," and "We kiss once when we wake up and once at each meal," showcasing their strong bond.

Kim Byung-se cautiously opened up about their efforts to have a child, which they had kept private until now.

He mentioned that one of the reasons for staying in Korea was to undergo IVF treatments, stating, "We stayed for about six months because of the treatments," confessing their earnest attempts over the past four to five years.

Kim Byung-se emotionally shared that his wife was the reason he couldn't give up on having a child. He said, "Given our age difference, there's a higher chance I'll go first," and added, "I thought my child would be the one to stay by her side after I'm gone," which touched the hearts of the show's cast.

However, Kim Byung-se decided to let go of this heartfelt dream due to his wife's declining health during the treatment process. He firmly stated, "Her health deteriorated too much during the IVF process, so we decided to stop," emphasizing that his wife's well-being is more important than having a child.

Meanwhile, Kim Byung-se, who met his wife, a jewelry brand CEO, through a blind date in the U.S. and married her in 2019, has since obtained a U.S. green card and resides in Los Angeles. Through the broadcast, he conveyed the responsibility and sincerity hidden behind his luxurious lifestyle, earning significant support from viewers.
