Kim Tae-won Criticizes Jun Hyun-moo on 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' After 10-Year Reunion

Singer Kim Tae-won unleashed a wave of criticism towards broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo on the KBS2 variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears'.

On the 349th episode aired on the 22nd, Kim Tae-won, the guitarist of the band Boohwal, appeared as a special MC. Having taken a break due to health issues, Kim Tae-won reunited with Jun Hyun-moo for the first time in over a decade since their time on 'Qualifications of Men', adding a touch of nostalgia to the encounter.

Upon Kim Tae-won's appearance, Jun Hyun-moo sang 'Never Ending Story', saying, "If you miss someone, you'll meet them someday." Kim Tae-won humorously remarked, "Hyun-moo was quite a handful on 'Qualifications of Men'. During the choir segment, I told him to just lip-sync," eliciting laughter.

Kim Tae-won also criticized Jun Hyun-moo, who was the youngest member on 'Qualifications of Men'. He said, "Hyun-moo was clueless 10 years ago," and added, "I don't know how he won the grand prize," turning the studio into a sea of laughter.

What Advice Did Aspiring Announcers Receive from Um Ji-in?

The episode also featured Um Ji-in visiting Seoul National University's broadcasting club with Kim Jin-woong and Park Hyo-jin. Park Hyo-jin, an alumnus of the German Education Department and former broadcasting club member, invited Um Ji-in to her alma mater for the juniors. The students expressed admiration, calling Um Ji-in their "role model" and stating, "We study by watching her host news and cultural programs." Regarding Park Hyo-jin, known as 'Minji of Seoul National University', the juniors said, "She was recognized for her beauty and talent even during her broadcasting club days, and was acknowledged as a model student by fellow Seoul National University students."

Um Ji-in proposed a mini critique session for the aspiring announcers. Han Soo-kyung, who had applied for the KBS announcer exam, caught attention with her self-written sports news script and stable voice tone. Um Ji-in praised her, saying, "Your voice is perfect for an announcer," but added, "It was obvious you memorized it, and your delivery was slightly lacking," offering gentle, tailored mentoring for the students. Park Hyo-jin, who had shed tears during the KBS critique session, expressed, "If Um Ji-in had given me soft feedback, I might not have cried," revealing her feelings.

Kim Dong-eon, aspiring to be the next Kim Sung-joo, conducted an impromptu interview with Kim Jin-woong. Um Ji-in demonstrated proper pronunciation, advising, "If an announcer can't get the basic pronunciation right, they will fail the first round. If you can't fix it, you should reconsider applying." Park Hyo-jin encouraged the juniors, saying, "I also faced many rejections before getting here. Don't dwell on the moments of failure, but approach it with the mindset that 'this is my place' and challenge sincerely."
