In a written interview, players Jang Dong-min, Jin Joong-kwon, Jung Young-jin, and Hellmouse shared their reasons for joining the program and what sets 'Betting on Fact' apart. Jang Dong-min, who holds a record of four survival wins, expressed his motivation, saying, "The fresh concept of 'news' as a survival theme sparked my interest." Jin Joong-kwon added, "Initially, I declined the offer as I didn't see myself fitting into a variety show, but the concept of identifying fake news seemed meaningful, so I decided to participate."

Reflecting on the completion of the survival show, Jang Dong-min's struggles drew attention. He admitted, "There were many news experts, and the intense scrutiny on me as a survival veteran made it very challenging."
